William G Search Ltd, the Leeds-based independent plant hire group, has significantly boosted its fleet of portable vandal-proof steel buildings in order to cater for the growing demand for this type of accommodation.
The company has invested more than £200,000 in 80 new units, including stores, toilets, mess rooms and offices.
Andrew Collings, the firm’ Group Hire Operations Manager, said: “Demand for these units – all of which are purpose-built – is increasing as contractors become more security-conscious. Builders are now focusing seriously on loss prevention and risk management.
“Clients are also demanding a better quality unit these days. As well as security, they want a comfortable, quality working environment. The days when an old converted sea container would do are now past.”
