Leeds-based industrial services firm William G Search has been mixing fire and water recently with a brace of local contracts. The company has supplied 11 portable compressors to South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and also installed a new standby power unit for Yorkshire Water.
The wheel-mounted, 3hp compressors have been distributed to fire stations across the region where they will be used for general maintenance to fire engines and other emergency equipment.
Search has installed the standby power unit at Yorkshire Water¡¦s sewage treatment works at Blackburn Meadows, Sheffield. The new diesel genset will start automatically in the event of electrical power failure allowing normal service at the works to be maintained.
