William G Search Ltd has delivered three of its latest self-contained, anti-vandal welfare cabins to Barratt East Midlands for different construction projects across the region.
Barratt East Midlands is a division of Barratt Homes, one of the UK¡¦s largest and best known housebuilders. It initially ordered one unit for a site in Lincolnshire, where 900 homes are being built over the next ten years. The company has since taken delivery of two more cabins for projects at Chilwell, near Nottingham, and Queniborough in Leicestershire.
Clive Hurt, Purchasing Manager at Barratt East Midlands, has been impressed by having all facilities - including a drying area, toilet and canteen - under one roof: ¡§It¡¦s a very attractive feature and avoids workers having to trudge between separate units across a site. The built-in generator is also a big advantage as there¡¦s reliable power for heat and light with no gas cylinders to keep changing.¡¨
Search Group Hire Operations Manager Andrew Collings predicts growing demand for such self-contained units. ¡§With health and safety such an important consideration, welfare cabins like these can help construction firms demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality and security of on-site facilities for their workers,¡¨ he said.
Search is also able to offer regular servicing using its own fleet of tankers to refill the water supply and empty effluent. In addition, the company¡¦s engine division can service and maintain the units¡¦ integral generators.
