A range of Chesterton mechanical seals supplied by William G Search Ltd has received ATEX approval after independent testing.
Search, the Leeds-based compressed air and industrial sealing specialist, made the announcement following the successful approval by one of the UK¡¦s leading laboratories based in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Compliant for use in equipment that operates in explosive and potentially explosive atmospheres, the approved Chesterton seals can now be used across Europe in industries covered by the ATEX Directive such as power generation, petrochemicals, mining, oil and marine.
Brian Gilmer, Chesterton product specialist at Search, said: ¡§We recognised the need for ATEX approval and this new development will enable us to expand our fluid sealing business into new markets.¡¨
Search is an approved Chesterton distributor in the UK.
ATEX approval covers the following A. W. Chesterton mechanical seal models:
Component Single Seals: 440, 880, 891, 491, 886HT, VDMA, 777, 732, 773, 718 and SAS
Single Seals: UV, 186, 186HT, 155, 180, 180 PR and S10
Dual Seals: 225, 255, 280, 280M, 1210, 286 and S20
Gas Seals: 4400 and 4410
