DAEWOO DEAL TO DOUBLE SIZE OF SEARCH ENGINES DIVISION

William G Search Ltd, the Leeds-based power solutions provider and engine distributor, is to double the size of its engine sales division with a strategic move to provide Power Units into the larger end of the pumping and power generation markets.

The company has clinched an agreement with Korean engine manufacturer Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery Ltd to distribute its range of heavy-duty water-cooled industrial diesel and gas engines within the UK.

The product range includes naturally aspirated, turbocharged and turbocharged/intercooled versions with outputs from 50 to 590 kw. The inline models are either four or six cylinder and the “V” models can be eight, 10 or 12 cylinders. They all meet current emission regulations.

Eddie Whitham, Divisional Manager for Power Product Sales & Parts at William G Search, said: “This distribution agreement is a very exciting opportunity for us and will double the size of our range. The Daewoo equipment is very rugged and offers tremendous durability and reliability.

“The new engines will complement our existing 1.6 to 50kw Lister-Petter range of smaller air and water-cooled diesel and gas engines. We can now supply a comprehensive range of engines to suit pumping and power generation equipment that will be further enhanced with the launch later this year of five new models of Lister-Petter’s X Range.”
